Gurgaon is basically an industrial town and has assumed importance in view of its location within National Capital Region (NCR) and close proximity to Delhi, the Capital of India . Many Multinational Companies(MNCs) have set up industrial units, at Gurgaon and many others are in the process of setting up base here. Industrial activity here is so well planned that the town and other surrounding residential sectors being developed by HUDA as well as by the private colonizers have remained pollution free. The main town is located at a distance of about 30Kms. from Delhi but it is so well connected that it can hardly be segregated from Delhi and has practically become a part of the National Capital. The International Airport at Palam is located at a distance of just 17Kms. from the town. The main National High-way No.8 from Delhi to Bombay via Jaipur passes through the town.
