District Red Cross Society, Gurgaon
District Red Cross society is established in the district for the help and welfare of public. The Office of District Red Cross Society is situated near to ITI Gurgaon. Deputy Commisioner, Gurgaon is Chairman of this society. All official activities of the societies are look after by the Secretary of Red Cross Society, who is appointed by the Governor of the state. Following type of works are being carried out by the society in the district on priority basis :
| A Medical Lab. opposite to Civil Hospital Building is
working for medical examination of person, who are willing to obtain driving license
from local licensing authority. | |
| One X-Ray Machine has been provided to the Civil Hospital,
Gurgaon for X-Rays of Outdoor and Indoor patients on subsidised charges for the
welfare of patient. | |
| One Medical Store is running by Red Cross Society in the
premises of Civil Hospital. Medicines are provided to patients on subsidised rate i.e
these medicines are available at cheaper prices as compared to medical stores of open
market. This medical store remains open 24 hours for needy patients. | |
| District Red Cross Society have provided three ambulances
along with drivers to civil hospital. Any patient can avail the services of
ambulance in emergency or on the recommendation of doctors on duty in civil hospital. | |
| Time-to-time Blood donation camps ( approx. 15 camp per
year), are organised by the society in the district. A team of Doctors from
AIIMS, New Delhi, Safadarjung Hospital, New Delhi, PGI Rohtak, Blood bank National HQ,
New Delhi and Civil Hospital, Gurgaon is invited during the camp activity. | |
| A working women hostel is being run by the society in
Gurgaon to provide shelter to needy working women. It is situated near to John Hall,civil
line Gurgaon. One lady wardon, one mali and 2-3 security guards have been deputed by the
society in this hostel. Willing women/lady have to provide a certificate from its employer
for the admission in this hostel. | |
| First-Aid training is provided to willing youths/children by
District Training Officer. Training fees is Rs. 100 per candidate is charged by society.
On request basis same type of training is also organised for companies on charges
basis. | |
| On 26th January and 15th
August: - Tricycles, wheel chairs and creches are provided to handicapped persons - Sewing machines are provided to widows - Fruits are distributed among deaf & dumb, blind school, patients of civil hospital and prisoner of District Jail In winter season, blankets are provided to poor people, old aged men/women and widows. | |
| Donation/Funds & other needful things are collected by
Red Cross Society and sent to affected areas due to natural claimities etc., for immediate
relief to needy persons.
